TDG Architects Ltd. designed the new flagship facility for Bahamas Medical & Surgical Supplies, located on Fifth Terrace in Centerville, Nassau. The project showcases a modern and environmentally conscious approach to commercial healthcare architecture, transforming a former brownfield site into a functional and dynamic space. Constructed by Zabdiel Construction, the building utilizes an Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) system that promotes energy efficiency and structural durability. With a design focused on flow, light, and efficiency, the facility supports both administrative operations and customer engagement, setting a new benchmark for medical supply environments in The Bahamas.

Concept Development
The concept was rooted in the idea of transformation—revitalizing an underused brownfield site into a purposeful, sustainable medical facility. TDG Architects sought to merge efficiency and environmental responsibility, creating a design that reflects the forward-thinking identity of Bahamas Medical & Surgical Supplies. The architectural language emphasizes clean lines, natural lighting, and durable materials, ensuring a timeless and professional appearance aligned with the company’s reputation for quality and care.
Spatial Planning
Functionality guided the spatial organization of the building. The layout optimizes internal circulation for both staff and customers, balancing public retail and administrative zones with controlled-access areas for storage and logistics. The use of an ICF building system enhances insulation, acoustics, and energy performance, providing a comfortable environment for daily operations. Wide corridors, accessible entryways, and clear sightlines further reinforce the project’s focus on efficiency and user experience.
Final Touches
Attention to detail shaped the final outcome—from the selection of materials to the integration of natural light through strategically placed windows and glazing.
